July 24: Chapman/Pinehurst Format (Two-Man Team)

 

Choose a partner for your Two Man Team and sign-up to play in the WMC July Chapman Format (aka Pinehurst Foursomes) on Saturday, July 24.  The cost to participate is the standard Member or Senior Rate plus the tournament fee ($15).

Tee Times Start: 9:00am

 

How does the Chapman Format work?  

  1. You both hit tee shots.
  2. You each then proceed to your partner's ball and hit your second shot - you play your partners tee shot and he plays yours. 
  3. You select the best of the 2nd shots and ridicule the lesser one.  
  4. Then play alternate shot from that point, until the ball is holed, including putts. E.g. stroke 3 is taken by the player who did NOT hit the second shot that was picked. 

 

Here it is again - Play each other's tee shot, choose best 2nd shot, the player whose 2nd shot was not chosen will play the 3rd shot alone.  The player who hit the better 2nd shot will then play the 4th shot and so on, until the ball is holed.  Play each others tee shots, choose, play alternate shot from the 2nd shot chosen.

Handicaps

The team handicap will be 60% of the lower handicap and 40% of the higher handicap, converted to a course handicap for the team (per USGA).

Sign ups will be on the main page of the Major Events Section, starting Monday June 28 at 6:00pm.

IMPORTANT: At the end of the sign up, click the Question for Manager blue link, and put in EITHER your partner's name if you have a partner, or the word "SINGLE" if you are a single and need a partner.  If you don't do this we will need to track you down individually to ask.  

 

Don't have a partner?  We'll find one for you - just sign up for the event and click Question for Manager, and put in "SINGLE" and we will match you up. 

 

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein including a golfer’s Handicap Index. The Committee reserves the right to reject the entry of any applicant, at any time, for any reason. Any decision by the Committee, in any matter, shall be final.
